Tilak Mahato started working at the University of Arizona Plant Sciences department in 2001. In 2014, he joined the CEAC team as a Research Specialist. Before the UArizona, he worked at the Biosphere 2 Center for seven years (1993-2000). He was one of the members of the seven crews “Biospherian” of the Biosphere 2’s Second Closed Mission (1994) and in-charge of the “Food and Agricultural System” with the responsibility of growing all the foods needed for the resident crews.
Here at the CEAC, Tilak works with the faculty and assists in coordinating, implementing, managing, and conducting research projects in our greenhouses. His research interests include intensive and sustainable agriculture, hydroponic production systems, and IPM.
