Chieri Kubota
Plant Sciences

Chieri Kubota received a Ph.D. in Horticulture Engineering from Chiba University, Japan in 1994. She also has a Master's degree in Horticultural Science in 1991 and Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science in 1989 which she received from Chiba University. Here at the University of Arizona she teaches: PLS 475A/575A Physiology of Plant Production under Controlled Environment. Her research interests include: 1) manipulation of plant growth and development by environmental control, 2) value added plant production under controlled environment, 3) long distance transportation and low temperature storage of transplants, 4) physiology of grafted seedlings for greenhouse crop production, and 5) photoautotrophic micropropagation. Dr. Kubota's work has been in publications including Journal of American Society of Horticultural Science and Scientia Horticulturae.
